Choosing A New Phone: Huge Virgin Mobile USA News!

This past few months there have been huge updates for my no contract Virgin Mobile USA carrier.
First off, Virgin Mobile USA has got their first 4G Wimax phone in the form of the HTC EVO V 4G, which is pretty much a re-branded HTC EVO 3D.
It was the first high end mobile hand held to come out from Virgin Mobile USA. It cost $299.99 for the phone it self and monthly rates start at $35.
This is a great deal in my opinion because starting at $35 you get 300 talk minutes, unlimited data, email and text messages per month.

Also shortly after the release of the HTC EVO V 4G, another bomb shell hit the official Virgin Mobile USA that the iPhone 4S will be coming out as a no contact phone! This is a big deal for me, because to get an iPhone before. I would have to pay an expensive two year contract with either AT&T, Verizon or Sprint.
June 29th, end of this month is the release date for Virgin Mobile's iPhone 4S.
Here is the catch though. There will be two model size coming out. The 8GB iPhone 4 will cost $550! And the 16GB iPhone 4s will cost $650!!! This is the upfront cost for the phone it self since there is no contract. With a contract, the cost of the phone would be much lower because it is covered by the two year contract.
(Edit 06/13/12: I first thought that both 8GB and 16GB were both iPhone 4s, but other sources say its the 8GB that is an iPhone 4 and the 16GB is the iPhone 4s. However, there is no reliable detail about this except that the iPhone will come out to Virgin Mobile on June 29.)

After one would get over the up front cost of the iPhone 4S, the Beyond Talk phone rates for Virgin Mobile is still the same starting at $35 a month but with added incentive. Anyone who opts into auto payment will save $5 a month, making it $30 a month.

Another draw back of Virgin Mobile's iPhone 4S is that it is still using Sprints 3G network. This might not seem like a big deal but the HTC EVO V 4G is well a 4G phone, and the cost of the phone it self is much less at $299.99.

Here is the thing about getting Virgin Mobile iPhone 4S. The up front cost is expensive, but it's a one time payment and adding up the monthly cost is much less then a contact cost if you do your math. This is my argument for getting an iPhone 4S.

Or if you don't want an iPhone 4S, The HTC EVO V 4G is a great high end no contract android phone that cost $299.99
(Virgin Mobile USA uses Sprints 4G Wimax network and is not 4G LTE network. 4G LTE is the latest 4G technology currently being implemented on every network. 4G Wimax is an older technology and doesn't have the 4G speeds found in 4G LTE phones. People might get this confused when they see that the HTC EVO V "4G" but not seeing the speeds known for 4G LTE networks.)
