There are Hateful, Hurtful, Foul Mouth, Cussing, and Racial Bigots in the online gaming world. I should know because I've played with them, and I can't stand it! The game enjoyment is so foul. I just had to quite the game just to get away from their presence.
Playing online is to play and enjoy gaming with other people all over the world. To share, and enjoy a game with each other. Well that's how many would like it to be, including me.
Gears Of War is the latest game that I've been playing over Xbox live. One game got me so ticked. It made me take a very long break from the game.
It was a ranked Team Gears of War match, and I just joined the game. First thing in the lobby practically everyone is cussing up and down, blurting out racial slurs, and I knew this wasn't going to be a fun game. I couldn't quite too because it would show on my rank records. So I decided to play the game through.
The game started I covered the person in front of me like I do many times. Then the fighting heated up with everyone on both teams blasting each other in close proximity. It was pretty impossible to tell who was shooting at who, then one guy falls on the opposite team of me, and I go for the kill, and I tapped the button for the final kill when on of the guys on my team yelled, "It's My F***ing Kill!" Too late the player was dead, and I got the score, and he gets very mad at me! This happens several times. I would tap the kill button and he would yell out "It's My f***ing Kill!"
It's like baseball. Two people converging to catch a ball. One person yells out before hand to the other player, "It's My Ball!" The other player stops to let the other player catch it. It doesn’t happen when 2 players go for the ball one person catches it already and the other player then yells out, "It's My Ball!" It's to late! That's what this guy did on Gears of War.
It happened several times, and by then he was cussing up and down. Mostly towards me saying stuff like, "You stupid f***, I hope you f***ing die!" I am saying to my self it's just a game, and I didn't really want to respond back.
It came to a point where I just stayed far away from this individual, and let him have all the kills he wants. Meaning I purposefully threw my game just to have his mouth shut up with all the hate that was flying out of his trap. However it didn't.
There was one time during the game when he and the other player knocked each other down at the same time, and I was there watching. I could have gone for the kill, but instead I decided to revive this individual player and allowed him to get the score. I was proving that I was a team player, and he? Well He just kept barking out cuss and hateful words.
Others where about the same as him, cussing up and down.
When the game was over. I was totally glad it was over, and left the game.
This was a few months ago. After that time I've encountered more games similar this that game, and that's when I decided to take a long break from the game.
Every game I play online. I play my best, and I respect other players. Team games I do my best to be a team player. However these people just show the darkest parts about being human. It's just a game to play and have fun, but even that they don't want.
What brought this blog on? Well, I just began the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, and several games now. People were cussing left and right, and it brought memories of that Gears of War game.
